Grief lives in furniture. In the chair no one sits in anymore. In the shoes still waiting by the door. In the favourite mug you can’t bring yourself to wash. In the coat that still hangs exactly where they left it. People expect grief to arrive in the big moments. The funeral. Birthdays. Anniversaries. But often... It arrives on an ordinary Tuesday, when you catch yourself setting two places instead of one. There is nothing wrong with leaving things exactly as they are. Leave them there.
